DEANNA BURKETT, MA, MS, RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher)

I am a masters-level mental health professional trained in the delivery of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction by the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Healthcare, and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. I am also a Kripalu-trained yoga Teacher (200-HR RYT), working primarily with adults, ages 50-75.

As a staff member at the University of Pittsburgh Counseling Center (2010-2014), I developed the original short-form mindfulness-based services and audio/video resources for Pitt’s Stress Free Zone (SFZ), which Mindful Magazine listed as one of “four prominent examples” of mindfulness meditation programs in a university setting. In 2013 I consulted with the University of Pittsburgh School of Education in the development and implementation of its Attention Training Program (ATP) which introduces new teachers to mindfulness as a skill which can help them more intentionally care for themselves and the learning environments they are co-creating with their students.

Currently I teach Yoga and MBSR at the UPMC Center for Integrative Medicine, and I teach online courses for eMIndful.
